Working for one of the largest Planned and Reactive Maintenance contractors in the UK, one of their north London offices are seeking to appoint a Lead Operation Manager to cover the northern home counties region. Specific duties and responsibilities; Be responsible for the operational activities within a Branch. Ensure all operational teams have the relevant experience and ability to manage their allocated projects. Ensure that all operational staff are familiar and have a reasonable understanding of the company's Health and Safety policies, procedures, safe working practices and risk assessments and are effectively communicated to all site staff and contractors. Review safety plan and safe systems of work and ensure implementation on all projects. Ensure all work equipment is tested at appropriate intervals and certified as required and registers for plant are kept up to date. Positively endorse the H&S culture and values. Co-operate openly with any accident/incident investigations and report any accidents/incidents within 24 hours. Respond in a timely manner to any branch or site non-compliance. All new projects should be allocated a management team. Ensure each project and team has a nominated Contracts Manager and supervisor/foreman/site manager to enable full time management of the site. This can be in the form of a nominated person, part time or full-time foreman and supervisor. Assist with the mobilisation and setup of all projects. Larger projects should have a Mobilisation plan established and followed. Complex requirements of individual contracts such as share IT, sustainability and community commitments, scaffold designs should be overseen to assist the Contracts Manager. Develop suitable programmes of work with the Operation Managers & Contracts Manager and ensure all stakeholders are considered and resources are available to meet the programme. Implement weekly labour plans across all contracts to review and redeploy resources when required to meet programmes of work. Oversee and review the implementation of labour targets prior to the commencement of work. Liaise with the Community Engagement Team to ensure resident or customer care needs are considered. Manage the Operational Managers and Contracts Managers weekly review of the labour targets and ensure compliance. Non-compliance to be escalated. Ensure productivity management systems are in place monitored. Implement an inspection regime to review the quality, environmental and health and safety standards on site. Actively manage Contracts Operations staff including weekly reporting to the Branch Manager on all operational matters at the Branch meeting Identify development and training needs and ensure they are carried out. Adhere to company vehicle and plant reporting procedures including vans are maintained. Maintain a Branch register and monitoring routine for all plant and branch vehicles. Understand and lead in disciplinary procedures as required. Qualifications: NVQ L2/3 HNC in Construction, or equivalent SMSTS Award CMI L3 Award, Principles of Management & Leadership CSCS card – Supervisor / Manager / Professionally qualified person Knowledge: It is essential you have previous experience managing labour-based activities (within the construction industry). Good knowledge of the building/construction industry ideally with a wide range of local contacts including sub contractors and end users.
