Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bristol. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, reliable, and secure software solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code complying with defined software coding standards
  • Lead the development of complex features or components across the full software development lifecycle
  • Contribute to architectural design, system planning, and long-term technical strategy
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to support continuous improvement
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance
  • Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous learning across the team

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer with significant experience in a senior or technical-lead role
  • Experience in architecting and designing software solutions for both small and large-scale systems
  • Strong proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages (C#, C++ or Java)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software development methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality software
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent industry experience
