Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bristol. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, reliable, and secure software solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code complying with defined software coding standards
- Lead the development of complex features or components across the full software development lifecycle
- Contribute to architectural design, system planning, and long-term technical strategy
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to support continuous improvement
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance
- Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous learning across the team
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer with significant experience in a senior or technical-lead role
- Experience in architecting and designing software solutions for both small and large-scale systems
- Strong proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages (C#, C++ or Java)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software development methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent industry experience
