Our client, a leader in the IT sector, is seeking a Technology Data Lead to oversee and deliver end-to-end data migration activities on a contract basis. The role is pivotal to the execution of the SAP S/4 HANA transformation programme and will have a significant global reach, impacting multiple geographies including Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, and London, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end SAP data migration, from strategy development to execution
  • Establishing standardised processes, methodologies, tools, and governance globally
  • Supporting business development activities and contributing to the go-to-market strategy
  • Defining and managing the data workstream plan and resources
  • Providing quality assurance over technical activities involving ETL tools
  • Supporting profiling, cleansing, and validation of data
  • Communicating risks, issues, and progress to senior stakeholders
  • Managing multiple System Integrators and specialised Data Migration firms
  • Ensuring compliant, high-quality, and timely migration of business-critical data
  • Supporting testing cycles and cutover with accurate data loads

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in SAP S/4 HANA phased bluefield implementation programmes
  • Proven leadership experience in at least two major SAP data migration implementations, including migration from ECC to S/4HANA
  • Strong understanding of the technical migration process and related tooling (e.g. SAP Data Services, Migrate Your Data)
  • Excellent knowledge of the SAP data model and associated master and transactional data
  • Track record of leading data migration teams and delivering within complex programmes
  • Experience managing a distributed team of migration architects, ETL specialists, and analysts
  • Ability to operate in high-complexity, matrixed environments
  • Experience with global governance, technical delivery, and regulatory control in a highly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of tools like Data Services, Syniti, SNP is an advantage
  • Understanding of corporate data governance and information security policies
  • Capability in knowledge transfer to BAU and support teams post-go-live

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or a related discipline

Beneficial Skills:

  • SAP S/4HANA certification or relevant SAP training
  • Certification in SAP Data Migration tools such as SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services, or Syniti
  • Project or programme management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification)
