About the Role

We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst - Metadata to join a growing Data Governance team and play a key role in strengthening a data-driven culture across the business. Working within the metadata pillar, you will help deliver and enhance metadata services that support trusted, well-managed, and discoverable data and AI products. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading tools, including Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog, while contributing to strategic data capabilities that directly support business decision-making and AI enablement. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment where you will support delivery, coach stakeholders, and help translate data governance solutions into tangible business value. You will also have the opportunity to develop your expertise within a highly visible team during a period of significant business transformation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of the metadata roadmap, taking ownership of key initiatives and deliverables.
  • Develop and enhance capabilities within Collibra and Unity Catalog to improve the maturity and effectiveness of data governance tools.
  • Work closely with Data Owners and Data Stewards to support data delivery and data quality governance outcomes.
  • Promote the value of metadata tools by demonstrating features and capabilities to business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation through the development and application of metadata solutions.
  • Coach and support stakeholders on the importance of business context in metadata management, connecting business requirements with technical metadata processes and platforms.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of data governance practices that support data and AI initiatives across the organisation.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of Data Governance best practices, including metadata management principles and their business value.
  • ADAMA qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Data Governance role within the financial services sector.
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar data governance tools such as Informatica, Ataccama, or Alation.
  • Aware of or experienced with Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment and adapt to evolving business priorities.
  • A proactive and growth-oriented mindset, with a passion for data, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Enthusiastic about driving innovation through automation and advancing data and AI governance capabilities.
