Our client, a consultancy working with a high-profile client in the Energy sector, is seeking a GIS Technical Lead with a focus on ESRI GIS, particularly ArcGIS Enterprise. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to take on technical leadership within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Authority & Solution Governance
    • Act as the technical authority for ArcGIS Enterprise and Utility Network platforms.
    • Provide technical direction, design assurance, and specialist advice across GIS solutions and integrations.
    • Establish and promote GIS technical standards, best practices, and governance controls.
    • Review and approve technical designs, configuration approaches, and implementation plans.
    • Assess technical risks, dependencies, and supportability considerations.
    • Ensure GIS solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and operational support requirements.
  • ArcGIS Enterprise Technical Ownership
    • Provide senior technical ownership for corporate ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
    • Administer and support Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server services, and publication workflows.
    • Provide technical oversight of platform upgrades, patching, and environment management.
    • Support security configuration, authentication patterns, and GIS platform access-control considerations.
    • Monitor platform performance and provide specialist troubleshooting where required.
  • Utility Network Migration and Post Go Live Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical leadership for ArcGIS Utility Network architecture, configuration, and support.
    • Support Utility Network migration, testing, Go-Live preparation, and post-Go-Live technical support.
    • Provide expertise in Utility Network topology, dirty area management, validation rules, and data quality assurance.
    • Support Branch Versioning, reconcile and post workflows, and editing workflows.
  • GIS Integration & Application Technical Ownership
    • Provide technical ownership and support for integrations between GIS platforms, corporate systems, and applications.
    • Support REST APIs, web services, interface analysis, and data exchange workflows.
    • Provide technical oversight for ETL and automation solutions using FME.
    • Provide guidance for ArcGIS Experience Builder customisations, ArcGIS Web Apps, and custom GIS applications.
    • Collaborate with development, database, infrastructure, network, and security teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
  • Enterprise Geodatabase Technical Ownership
    • Provide oversight for enterprise multi-user geodatabases supporting corporate GIS services.
    • Support administration and troubleshooting of traditional versioning and branch versioning models.
    • Advise on geodatabase performance, data integrity, version management, and support considerations.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in administering and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Experience integrating GIS with corporate applications, REST APIs, and ETL tools, including FME.
  • Experience with enterprise multi-user geodatabases, including traditional versioning and branch versioning.
  • Strong understanding of ArcGIS Utility Network architecture, topology, validation, and operational processes.
  • Experience with Utility Network migration, testing, Go-Live readiness, and post-Go-Live technical support.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise deployments in production and business-critical environments.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex GIS platform, integration, geodatabase, and application issues.
  • Knowledge of GIS security, authentication, enterprise architecture, and supportability principles.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

  • ArcGIS Utility Network certification or other ESRI technical certifications.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Workflow Manager, ArcGIS Monitor, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Pro administration.
  • FME certification or advanced FME experience.
  • ITIL Foundation or practical service-management awareness.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted GIS environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
