Our client, a prominent entity within the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a skilled DIG Integration Engineer to join their team in Christchurch. This is a contract role that will encompass a range of responsibilities within the Defence and Security domain, specifically supporting DIG - Integration Engineer - Risk & Assurance.
Core Responsibilities
- O/S & Software Build: Build, configure, and integrate Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 operating systems alongside COTS and bespoke software. Utilise PowerShell to install, configure, and streamline software deployments.
- Engineering Best Practices: Adhere to rigorous software engineering practices, conduct peer reviews, and mentor junior engineers within the team. Occasional travel to customer MoD locations to support system deployment, investigations, and testing.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Essential Criteria:
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Proven experience with Windows Deployment Tools, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automated software installation and configuration.
- Experience in modern development and engineering practices, including structured testing.
- Demonstrated capability to author high-quality technical documentation.
- Experience with Windows image creation and deployment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- SharePoint administration experience.
Qualifications:
No specific certifications required, though a diploma or degree in an engineering/technical discipline is highly beneficial.
