Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a polished and engaging Food & Beverage Host with a passion for creating exceptional first impressions and delivering outstanding guest experiences. You will report to the Food & Beverage Manager, working towards providing our guests with seamless and memorable dining experiences from arrival to departure.
Responsibilities:
- Be highly courteous and create a warm, professional, and engaging first impression for all guests.
- Manage reservations efficiently with strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Coordinate table allocation and guest seating to maximise flow and enhance the guest experience.
- Handle VIP and key client arrivals with confidence, discretion, and personalised attention.
- Work collaboratively with restaurant and bar teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Respond to guest enquiries (in person, by phone, and via email) in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain an organised and immaculate host/reception area.
- Proactively monitor guest satisfaction and resolve any concerns in a calm and solution-focused manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a guest-facing or customer service role within hospitality, luxury retail, events, or similar environments.
- Experience using reservation or booking systems.
- Excellent guest engagement and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A confident and professional communication style, including telephone manner.
- A good command of English is essential; a second language is advantageous.
