The total salary is made up of an hourly wage of 12.50 plus anticipated tronc of 7.66 per hour.
We are looking for a personable and conscientious chef to join our team as our Head Gaucho/a Chef. The grill and our meats are at the heart of what we do. Our team of Gaucho/a Chefs serve and carve the finest selection of meats directly at our guests' tables, with all the tradition behind the unique Brazilian way of serving. As the Head Gaucho/a Chef you will oversee the running of the department, ensuring our meats are prepared and cooked to the highest standards. You will act as a role model for your team ensuring they provide high levels of guest care always.

About the role of Head Gaucho/a Chef: As a rodizio restaurant, the role of the grill and kitchen teams differs from the traditional setup. Our meats are prepared and cooked in a separate grill section by the grill team, whilst the kitchen team take responsibility for creating cold dishes for the self-service Market Table, as well as a la carte dishes, hot side dishes, and desserts for our guests.
As such, the ideal Head Gaucho/a Chef will possess:
- Comprehensive experience working in a rodizio grill.
- Management experience, preferably in a kitchen environment.
- A passion for preparing, cooking and serving high quality meats.
- A high level of product and food hygiene knowledge.
- A clean-as-you-go approach and natural concern for cleanliness and hygiene.
- A strong understanding of and belief in teamwork.
- An understanding of the importance of stock control and wage budgets while ensuring the guest experience is never compromised.
- A proactive leadership style and good people skills, adaptive to a diverse working environment.
- Confidence in communicating with the team and with senior management, receiving instructions courteously and delegating appropriately.
