The total salary is made up of an hourly wage of £12.50 plus anticipated tronc of £7.66 per hour.
We are looking for a personable and conscientious chef to join our team as our Head Gaucho/a Chef. The grill and our meats are at the heart of what we do. Our team of Gaucho/a Chefs serve and carve the finest selection of meats directly at our guests’ tables, with all the tradition behind the unique Brazilian way of serving.
As the Head Gaucho/a Chef you will oversee the running of the department, ensuring our meats are prepared and cooked to the highest standards. You will act as a role model for your team ensuring they provide high levels of guest care always. We believe it is our people that make the difference and help us stand out as being the best. About the role of Head Gaucho/a Chef:
As a rodizio restaurant, the role of the grill and kitchen teams differs from the traditional setup. Our meats are prepared and cooked in a separate grill section by the grill team, whilst the kitchen team take responsibility for creating cold dishes for the self-service Market Table, as well as a la carte dishes, hot side dishes, and desserts for our guests.
As such, the ideal Head Gaucho/a Chef will possess:
- Comprehensive experience working in a rodizio grill.
- Management experience, preferably in a kitchen environment.
- A passion for preparing, cooking and serving high quality meats.
- A high level of product and food hygiene knowledge.
- A clean-as-you-go approach and natural concern for cleanliness and hygiene.
- A strong understanding of and belief in teamwork.
- An understanding of the importance of stock control and wage budgets while ensuring the guest experience is never compromised.
- A proactive leadership style and good people skills, adaptive to a diverse working environment.
- Confidence in communicating with the team and with senior management, receiving instructions courteously and delegating appropriately.
