The company specialises in designing and building high-quality, modern and energy-efficient new homes, with a focus on thoughtful design, customer service and creating thriving communities. Alongside private housing, they also work with housing partners to deliver affordable homes, helping to meet local housing needs and create sustainable places for people to live.Design Engineer roleReporting to the Technical Director, as a Design Engineer working within the Engineering Team and be responsible for undertaking the design of infrastructure and groundwork's packages for residential developments from land appraisal through to construction. You will be responsible for appointing Consultants, agreeing fees, liaising with statutory authorities and ensuring that design sits within budget.Duties to include:Procure service records and enquiries for new developments,Undertake In-House Road and Sewer designs for new estate roads and Infrastructure.Prepare Groundwork pack designs for tender and construction issue.Undertake Drainage, Foundation and Levels appraisals to support land bids.Secure S38, S104, S185 & S278 legal agreements to suit the development programme.Obtain designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structuraldesigns for superstructure componentsMaintain a continuous process of evaluation of any Consultant's designs to ensure thatproposals adhere to best practice in value EngineeringLiaise with other Technical Team members and others as necessary to seek the discharge ofbuilding regulations and planning conditions.Support our Site Engineers and Site Managers by responding to site technical queries.Design Engineer experience required:Producing civil engineering drawings for S38 and S104 packs (roads, sewers and drainage) within the residential sectorProficient using design packages (PDS flow), micro drainage and AutoCADInnovative approach to problem solvingCapable of managing multiple developmentsMeticulous attention to detailProven experience in the productions of value engineering designWhat's on offer?The company are offering a competitive salary (dependant on experience), option of a company car or car allowance, fuel card, (electric cars available), bonus scheme, enhanced pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, etc. The company are also on a growth plan and will have opportunities for career development.If you want to hear more about the Design Engineer role please apply with an up-to-date copy of your CV or contact Deena Fields in our Bolton office on 01204 554 884.
