We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Estimator to join an established main contractor based in Southampton. The business has a strong presence on the South Coast delivering projects across the commercial, education, healthcare and light industrial sectors with projects typically valuing up to £30mil. As a result of continued growth in the region, they are now looking to expand the pre-construction team with an additional Assistant Estimator.
About the role of Assistant Estimator:
As Assistant Estimator you will be working alongside the Estimating team, working on a range of tenders from initial conception. You will support the team with day-to-day activities whilst progressively working towards taking more personal responsibility for tenders.
Key Responsibilities as Assistant Estimator:
- Be involved in tenders valuing up to £25mil
- Work from first principles
- Work collaboratively with commercial and operational teams to produce competitive tenders
- Report into the Senior Estimator
- Be involved in pre-start meetings and handover with delivery teams.
Key Requirements for this Assistant Estimator position:
- Possesses a construction related HNC / degree
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in an Assistant / Trainee Estimator role
- Live within commutable distance to Southampton and be happy to commute there / to sites
- Have the full right to work in the UK (this role does not support sponsorship)
