Social Value Coordinator

A regional contractor have a requirement for Social Value Coordinator to join their business to lead and develop the company\’s long term Social Value on projects across the Greater Manchester region to meet long term business objectives.

Reporting to the Director, as a Social Value Coordinator you will be responsible for creating, implementing and tracking Social Value plans and promoting the ethos to employee and external partners.

  • Develop and oversee the Company Social Value strategy, aligning with corporate values, goals and objectives as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Project Social Value Plans, ensuring they meet support delivery of the long term Company Strategy, collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to identify and implement Social Value opportunities across the project.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, non-profits and community organisations.
  • Undertake direct delivery of the Project Social Values including identifying and delivering sessions, including attendance at events which may be held outside of working hours.
  • Engage employees and subcontractors to participate in Social Value programmes
  • Work closely with development teams to track and manage Social Value commitments.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs, apprenticeship opportunities and work placements within the Company in line with Social Value commitments.
  • Develop and deliver training for employees on Social Value and best practices to raise awareness and understanding.
  • Prepare reports and case studies on Social Value achievements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare annual impact assessments and reports which track the Company\’s Social Value Impact and monetary equivalents, undertake Framework compliance reviews.
  • Undertake recruitment of Apprenticeships to support social value commitments, working closely with our supply chain where the Apprentice is not to be directly employed.
  • Work with People & Culture to develop Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Attend corporate events as required to promote the business.
  • Lead on the management and championing of the Considerate Constructor Scheme ensuring Development Teams are aware of targets and providing support to help them achieve these.

Skills & experience

  • Understanding of Social Value implementation within the Construction Sector and awareness of the Social Value frameworks.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Proficient with social media, CV databases, and professional networks
  • Proficiency in project management tools and data analysis software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both individuals and groups
  • Attention to detail with the ability to be adaptive and a strategic thinker.
