A leading UK construction and development business is seeking an experienced Senior Tender Planner to join its expanding Pre-Construction team. With an annual turnover exceeding £1 billion and a strong secured pipeline of work across multiple sectors, this organisation is delivering some of the UK's most complex and high-profile projects, ranging from major data centres and commercial developments to residential schemes, film studios and specialist facilities, with individual project values reaching £300 million.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to play a key role in winning landmark projects and influencing delivery strategy from the earliest stages.

The Role:

Reporting into the Head of Planning and working closely with Bid, Estimating, Design and Operational teams, you will lead the planning function throughout the tender and pre-construction process. You will be responsible for developing robust tender programmes, construction methodologies, logistics strategies and phasing solutions that support competitive, deliverable and winning submissions. The role will involve engagement with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and senior operational stakeholders across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of tender and pre-construction programmes for major projects.
  • Develop construction methodologies, sequencing strategies and logistics plans.
  • Review tender documentation and identify programme risks, opportunities and constraints.
  • Work closely with estimating teams to align programme assumptions with pricing strategies.
  • Support bid presentations and client interviews.
  • Produce phasing plans, resource strategies and key milestone schedules.
  • Challenge design and construction approaches to identify efficiencies and programme improvements.
  • Support two-stage and negotiated procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure a seamless transition from pre-construction into live project execution.
  • Provide programme input on projects across sectors including data centres, commercial offices, residential developments, film studios and mixed-use schemes.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Tender Planner, Senior Planner or Pre-Construction Planner within a main contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK construction methodologies and procurement routes.
  • Experience working on projects valued between £50m and £300m+.
  • Exposure to sectors such as data centres, commercial, residential, industrial, life sciences, film studios or mixed-use developments would be advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational, commercial and design teams.
  • Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and a focus on programme certainty.
