My client is a Leading, National Civil Engineering Contractor. They are long established, progressive and employ more than 500 people in the UK. They are looking to employ on a permanent basis, a Site Agent, although they would consider a Sub Agent looking to step up currently. They are delivering civil engineering works throughout the Southwest. The company are delivering the works which involves a lot of highways, public realm, drainage, RC structures, bridge replacements and refurbs, parapet replacements, retaining walls, culvert refurbs and replacements etc. Key Responsibilities: • Ensuring a “safety first” attitude underpins all operations undertaken by the Company to ensure the health and safety of the company’s personnel and others working at or visiting our sites • Be accountable for ensuring all works are completed in full compliance with health and safety legislation and company policy and procedures on quality, health and safety and the environment • Embed safety as the first imperative across all areas of your responsibility • Support the evolution of a culture that welcomes the opportunity to learn from incidents and near misses, taking appropriate remedial action and holding people to account where necessary to ensure that the company’s objectives are achieved • Lead on the management of the project and ensure all works are managed in line with the contract • Prepare and update quality, environmental and construction phase plans. • Write and update risk assessments and method statements • Plan, measure, monitor and review progress throughout the project’s lifespan to ensure compliance with budget and programme • Input into monthly financial reports including cost / value reconciliations and budget forecasts • Work collaboratively to administer the contract whilst maintaining good relations with project stakeholders • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications and ensure the accurate construction of the works in accordance with the client requirements • Identify risk in sufficient time to allow effective mitigation to be implemented • Oversee the management of site level change including Early Warning’s and Compensation Event’s • Ensure appropriate plant, labour, subcontract and material resources are available in a timely manner to meet the project programme • Communicate and liaise with others to facilitate a teamwork approach to problem solving and operational tasks Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant subject matter (NVQ Level 6 and above will also be considered) Strong knowledge and experience of Civil
