Quantity Surveyor
Role: Quantity Surveyor
Location: West Midlands
Company: Leading Private Housing Developer
Salary & Package: £50,000 – £60,000 + package (will pay more for exceptional candidates)
Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
My client is a well-established, privately owned residential housebuilder with a strong reputation for delivering quality homes across the Midlands and surrounding regions. Due to continued growth, the company is now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands team to be responsible for the commercial performance of multiple residential developments, playing a key role in cost control, margin protection, and overall project profitability.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
- Managing the full commercial lifecycle of residential developments from budget to final account
- Procuring subcontract packages and managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Controlling costs and maintaining development margins
- Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs
- Managing procurement processes and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and site team
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- HND or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Strong commercial awareness and a good understand of budget management.
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Good IT skills and proficient with COINs
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to reconcile any potential cost disputes
- Ability to forecast risk and report accurately
- Full UK Driving license required to travel between sites
