A leading Tier 1 principal contractor is seeking an experienced Package Manager to take ownership of the internal fit-out package on one of Wales' most significant construction projects. This landmark £300m mixed-use development in the heart of Cardiff represents a major addition to the city's landscape and will deliver a world-class destination comprising premium commercial, hospitality, leisure and public spaces.

As a Package Manager, you will play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, taking responsibility for the technical design development, planning, coordination and successful delivery of the internal fit-out works. This is a highly visible position within a flagship scheme, requiring a construction professional who can bridge the gap between design and site delivery.

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of a substantial internal fit-out package from design development through to handover.
  • Manage the interface between consultants, subcontractors, commercial teams and site operations.
  • Review and influence technical design solutions to ensure buildability, programme certainty and quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and subcontractor engagement.
  • Drive programme performance, quality standards and health & safety compliance.
  • Manage package-specific risks, design changes and construction sequencing.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with project milestones, budget and client expectations.

About You

We are keen to speak with construction professionals who have delivered complex internal fit-out packages on major building projects and possess strong technical and operational expertise. You will ideally have experience working on large-scale developments such as:

  • Hotels and hospitality developments
  • Sports and leisure facilities
  • Stadiums and arenas
  • Major mixed-use schemes
  • Large commercial or public-sector developments

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Package Manager, Senior Site Manager or Project Manager on major construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of internal fit-out and finishing trades.
  • Technical design coordination experience with the ability to challenge and improve solutions.
  • Excellent planning and programme management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or recognised major build contractor.
