We are currently working with a Tier 1 contractor seeking experienced Design Managers to join their growing construction team delivering high-profile MOD and MOJ projects across the Northwest. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with a strong background in managing complex, high-value projects within secure and regulated environments.

The Role

  • Leading and managing the full design process from pre-construction through to project completion
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Driving design strategy, programme management, and technical compliance
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout the project life cycle
  • Ensuring all design meets MOD/MOJ standards, regulations, and security requirements
  • Supporting operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Mentoring and supporting junior Design Managers within the business

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager position
  • Background delivering MOD, MOJ, defence, custodial, healthcare, or other complex projects
  • Strong technical construction knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams effectively
  • Relevant construction or design qualification preferred
