We are currently working with a Tier 1 contractor seeking experienced Design Managers to join their growing construction team delivering high-profile MOD and MOJ projects across the Northwest. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Design Manager with experience in complex, secure, and technically demanding projects to play a key role from pre-construction through to project delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating the design process from tender through to completion liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Reviewing and managing design programmes and technical information.
  • Ensuring compliance with MOD/MOJ standards, regulations, and security requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving design issues proactively.
  • Supporting project delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Chairing design meetings and maintaining clear communication across all stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on MOD/MOJ, Healthcare, Education, or other regulated projects preferred.
  • Strong technical and construction knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant Construction qualification preferred.
