The Role

  • Act as the main point of contact for pre‑construction teams, providing environmental support across all tenders.
  • Work with pre‑construction teams to identify, assess, and manage environmental risks for prospective projects.
  • Develop a clear environmental risk profile for each tender, ensuring early identification of key constraints and requirements.
  • Identify required environmental surveys, permits, licences, and monitoring, and clearly communicate these requirements to project teams.
  • Support bid delivery by liaising with external consultants and ensuring all necessary environmental information and documentation is obtained.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure environmental requirements are appropriately costed, and with planners to ensure environmental risks are accurately programmed and addressed.
  • Provide clear guidance on how the business operates in accordance with the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring its principles and requirements are embedded during pre‑construction.
  • Support the environmental team during project set‑up and handover by sourcing and providing relevant tender‑stage information, including noise, air quality, vibration, ecology, archaeology, waste, watercourse, and pollution compliance data.
  • Provide practical guidance, resources, and solutions to help the business improve environmental performance and reduce risk.
  • Present environmental risk management strategies to client teams to support work‑winning and demonstrate strong environmental governance and compliance.
  • Provide input into pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender questions relating to environmental matters.
