We are currently working with a well-established and highly reputable main contractor based in the Paddock Wood area of Kent, who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of projects across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially stable business with a long-standing presence in the South East, known for delivering high-quality construction projects across a variety of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential.
The Role
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from inception through to final account, ensuring effective cost control and value delivery throughout. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of the commercial lifecycle of projects
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
- Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
- Contract administration (JCT forms of contract)
- Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Providing accurate cost reporting and forecasting
- Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial success
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
- Experience delivering construction projects in the UK
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects or packages independently
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related field
