My client is a Leading Tier 1 Contractor. They are currently looking for a Design Manager to join their Southern Water framework team based in the Kent, or Sussex regions. Location Offices at: Falmer, East Sussex; Chatham, Kent; Chichester, West Sussex. You'll also need to visit the sites you are supporting, as well as have the option to work from home.
Core Hours: 10 to 3
What will you be responsible for?
- As a Design Manager, you'll be working with the Project Managers and Project Directors, supporting them to check and empower the design partners to deliver to plan.
- You'll also be tracking and reporting on the design progress of their particular projects.
- Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects.
- Spearhead and optimise the engineering assurance process for designs prepared by partner at outline design and Capital Delivery partners at tender and construction design.
- Work collaboratively with other project functions to deliver outcomes efficiently.
- Seek opportunities to enhance affordability and value throughout the design process.
- Ensure compliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations, managing design-related health and safety risks.
Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer status with a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Full valid driving license.
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as water or wastewater.
