Job Description
Estimator
We have an excellent opportunity for an Estimator to join a tier 1 main contractor based in Basingstoke. The business unit work on projects predominantly within the public sector including blue light, defence, education and healthcare valuing anywhere from £100k – £20mil. Having seen continued success and an increase in inbound opportunity, they're now looking to expand their pre-construction team with an additional Estimator.
About the role of Estimator:
As Estimator you will be working within a pre-construction team led by an experienced Pre-Construction Director, working alongside a Senior Estimator. You will be involved in tenders from initial conception.
Key Responsibilities as Estimator:
- Independently tender projects valuing up to £15mil.
- Work collaboratively with Surveying and Operational teams to produce competitive tenders
- Report into the Managing Estimator
- Be responsible for the mentoring of more junior members of staff
Requirements for this Estimator role:
- HNC / Degree qualified
- Be able to price from first principles
- Experience working on 2-stage tenders & frameworks is highly beneficial
- Have at least 5 years experience within an estimating role
- Live in a commutable distance to Basingstoke and be happy to travel to office / site when required.
