Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a well established Main Contractor in Oldham. The company have great longevity of staff and work across numerous sectors including Social Housing.

They have an opportunity for an Estimator to join them on a permanent basis within their Social Housing Refurbishment division. The company work across kitchen & bathroom replacement schemes, windows & doors, roofing, and decarbonisation work. The company have regular repeat business with their clients due to the quality of service they provide.

The company are a close knit team, with a friendly, down to earth culture.

They are happy to look at Estimators from either a Social Housing or a New Build Housing background, but ideally they are looking for a candidate who has had some experience working on Frameworks or using SoR.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and processing of quotations, bids and tenders
  • Supplier and sub-contractor enquiries
  • Produce bills of quantities, schedule of work and contractor proposals
  • Assess material, labour and plant requirements
  • Increase and develop the supply chain at regional offices
  • Assess commercial and operational risks with tenders
  • Provide guidance to other members of staff
  • Maintain accurate company records

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a stable career background as an Estimator, ideally having experience with Social Housing or Maintenance. Candidates from a sub-contractor background would also be considered.

The company offer a salary of approximately £53-60k (depending on experience) + competitive package and benefits.
