A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a major commercial construction scheme in the North West. This is a key leadership position overseeing the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring programme, commercial performance, quality, and health & safety objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale commercial projects for recognised main contractors, with strong leadership, client-facing, and operational management experience. You will be responsible for managing site teams, driving programme performance, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of a major commercial construction project
  • Manage project teams including Construction Managers, Project Managers, and commercial staff
  • Oversee programme, quality, budget, and health & safety performance
  • Maintain and develop strong client and consultant relationships
  • Drive project strategy and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and statutory obligations
  • Report directly into Regional/Operations Directors
Requirements
  • Proven experience operating as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager within a Tier 1 contractor
  • Strong commercial build experience on projects of significant value
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Stable employment history with recognised main contractors
  • SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid qualifications preferred
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver projects successfully from inception to completion
