We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join a leading contractor on a landmark £20m seafront regeneration project that will transform one of the South Coast's most iconic waterfronts. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-profile scheme combining heritage restoration, modern engineering and complex public-realm improvements.

About the Project: This £20m seafront regeneration scheme represents a flagship investment in one of the region's most recognisable coastal landmarks. Spanning several years and delivered in carefully planned phases, the project will revitalise a historic stretch of waterfront while preserving the architectural character that defines the area.

The works include the sensitive demolition and reconstruction of ageing seafront arches, replacing them with a robust new in-situ reinforced concrete structure designed to serve the community for decades to come. Alongside this, the project will reinstate a number of significant listed features, ensuring that heritage detailing is protected and seamlessly integrated into the new design.

Beyond structural works, the scheme incorporates extensive public realm improvements aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and creating a more accessible, attractive and functional seafront environment. Upgrades will include reconfigured highways, pavement and cycleway improvements, service diversions, new lighting, high-quality landscaping, and architectural, mechanical and electrical installations to support future commercial and community uses.

This is a technically complex, high-profile project requiring close collaboration with local authorities, heritage bodies, designers and community stakeholders. Once complete, it will stand as a transformative addition to the coastline—blending historical preservation with contemporary engineering and delivering lasting social, cultural and economic value.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the full project team
  • Building strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders
  • Overseeing design development and coordination
  • Defining construction methodology and programme
  • Ensuring efficient, safe and timely site operations
  • Taking full contractual, financial and commercial responsibility for the project
  • Upholding exceptional standards of quality, compliance and safety

Requirements, Certificates & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within a major or regional contractor
  • Successful delivery of large-scale projects valued at £20m+
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent client, design team and project team management skills
  • Sound technical, commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Demonstrable drive, focus and strategic leadership qualities
  • Experience delivering public sector projects under NEC contracts (highly beneficial)
