We are working with a well established, stable and highly reputable Main Contractor who have a great company culture and ethos. The company works with a number of Local Authorities and Housing Providers throughout the region.
As a result of growth, they are recruiting for a Design and Compliance Manager to join their Refurbishment division on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to provide ongoing design and compliance guidance to all operational staff across the business, building a culture of best practice whilst upholding the existing ethos of the business. You will play an important role in ensuring refurbishment projects are delivered to the highest standards of design integrity and compliance.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing guidance and support relating to design & compliance during procurement stages and construction stages of refurbishment projects across the business.
- Coordinating architects, engineers, retrofit coordinators and other specialists to ensure refurbishment designs meet legislative requirements as well as client and contractual requirements.
- Ensuring all aspects of design and compliance adhere to regulatory frameworks including the Building Safety Act and Gateway requirements.
- Leading on Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 submissions.
- Ensuring compliance with PAS 2035 across all refurbishment projects, embedding the PAS 2035 requirements into each project in order to mitigate risk.
- During the construction phases, attending pre-start meetings to ensure compliance and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Assisting with design dispute resolution if required.
- Developing and implementing internal processes and procedures relating to design and compliance.
The successful candidate will require indepth knowledge of PAS 2035 requirements alongside Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 and the Building Safety Act as well as other Building Regulations. You should also have experience of working within Retrofit, Listed Building and High Rise refurbishment projects and understand the complex nature of these types of projects.
