Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery of a water infrastructure project in West Sussex. Working for a specialist subcontractor, you will play a key role in setting out, quality control, and day-to-day site engineering activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out for water infrastructure works including pipelines, chambers, drainage, and associated civils
  • Providing engineering support to site management and subcontractor teams
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Managing as-built records and assisting with RAMS and ITPs
  • Carrying out site surveys, checks, and measurements
  • Liaising with the main contractor, client representatives, and design teams
  • Monitoring quality and resolving technical issues on site
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on water, utilities, or civil engineering projects
  • Strong setting-out experience using GPS/Total Station equipment
  • Good understanding of water infrastructure works (clean or wastewater preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • CSCS card (minimum requirement)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS desirable
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
