Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery of a water infrastructure project in West Sussex. Working for a specialist subcontractor, you will play a key role in setting out, quality control, and day-to-day site engineering activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for water infrastructure works including pipelines, chambers, drainage, and associated civils
- Providing engineering support to site management and subcontractor teams
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards
- Managing as-built records and assisting with RAMS and ITPs
- Carrying out site surveys, checks, and measurements
- Liaising with the main contractor, client representatives, and design teams
- Monitoring quality and resolving technical issues on site
- Ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on water, utilities, or civil engineering projects
- Strong setting-out experience using GPS/Total Station equipment
- Good understanding of water infrastructure works (clean or wastewater preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- CSCS card (minimum requirement)
- SMSTS or SSSTS desirable
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
