Location: Crawley
Day rate: £400 - £450

Key Responsibilities of the Freelance Design Manager
- Manage and coordinate the design process from pre‑construction through to delivery.
- Ensure design information is delivered on time to meet programme requirements.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, security standards, and buildability.
- Lead design team meetings and manage the flow of information between stakeholders.
- Work closely with site and commercial teams to resolve design issues and maintain project progress.
- Ensure design solutions meet MOD and secure facility requirements.
Required Qualifications/Experience as a Freelance Design Manager
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction sector.
- Experience delivering secure government, defence, custodial, or highly regulated projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of design coordination and technical compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple consultants and maintain design programmes.
