A leading housebuilder has a requirement for an experienced Site Engineer to join their Technical team to work across new build housing developments in the North West region. As a Site Engineer, you will co-ordinate the production of engineering design information and provide ongoing engineering and technical support to other departments within the business.
Duties include:
- Reviewing technical information and reports for potential new land opportunities and providing input into initial development feasibility appraisals.
- Commissioning site surveys, technical investigations and reports from external consultants and the design team.
- Obtaining consultant fee proposals and monitoring expenditure against agreed budgets.
- Providing technical input into specifications for demolition, remediation and site preparatory works.
- Coordinating and contributing to the provision of design information for earthworks, roads, sewers, building foundations and development levels.
- Reviewing engineering design information and ensuring all design solutions are the most cost effective and practical, and comply with the relevant building regulations and warranty provider (NHBC) standards.
- Liaising with highways and water adoption authorities to seek Technical Approvals for Section 273/38 road designs and Section 104 sewer designs.
- Collating and issuing drawing packages and construction information for both tendering and construction works in an orderly manner and to the required timescales.
- Assisting with the negotiation and release of engineering related planning conditions.
- Attending and actively participating in design and progress meetings as required for each development.
- Undertaking regular site visits to complete inspections with relevant authorities and contractors to ensure that works are carried out to the required standards.
- Liaising with consultants on a regular basis to ensure that validation/verification reports are available when required.
- Assisting with the progression of the adoption of roads and sewers.
Role requirements:
- Experience working on similar residential projects in a design or engineering role.
- Have a HNC or above in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PDS, Microdrainage along with other engineering related software.
