A regional house builder has a requirement for a Development Engineer to join their business to coordinate all aspects of engineering design for new build housing developments in the region. Reporting to the Technical Director and working closely with the Land team to secure land bids by presenting findings and recommendations.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assessing geo-technical information and advising on foundation solutions and infrastructure.
- Advising on initial feasibility drainage infrastructure proposals.
- Advising on highway design requirements.
- Involvement with the planning application.
- Preparing abnormal schedules and preparing cost schedules for approval.
- Preparing financial forecasts in relation to infrastructure inspection, legal, and bond fees identifying during this process associated phasing potential.
- Identifying build difficulties with civil and structural operations.
- Managing proposed multi utility enquiries with relevant providers.
- Coordinating existing services disconnections and diversions where required.
- Monitoring and coordinating material movement strategies.
Role requirements:
- HNC or BSc in Construction/Civil Engineering.
- Previous experience as an Engineer working for a House Builder or with a design consultancy.
- Experience of multi-site working.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
- Fluent in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Commercially aware linking design to cost and value.
- Good understanding of regulations and legislation impacting engineering design.
