A busy house builder seeks to appoint an Assistant Development Engineer to join their regional office in the North West. The company started as a small family run business and has expanded gradually over the years, creating an enviable reputation built on quality, customer service and delivering high standards. They are now one of the top 10 house builders building new properties ranging from 1 bed apartments to luxury family homes across the UK.
Supporting the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers, you will be responsible for assisting on multiple developments and will be expected to prepare all relevant engineering information to a high degree of accuracy and to deliver on time.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining NHBC submissions on the portal including uploading information
- Pulling together information for submissions for planning condition discharge
- Assisting the engineering team with tasks not limited to design updates, meetings with groundworkers regarding level changes/discrepancies (shadowing of team members)
- Updating and issuing drawings and drawing registers
- Collating information for engineering design tenders, multi-utility tenders and bid submissions
- Managing and updating trackers for NHBC conditions and upcoming sites
- The successful candidate will have a Design/engineering background, either with a Consultancy or a House Builder
- Working knowledge of all CAD and other software civil engineering packages
- Understanding of CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC requirements and Codes of Practice
- Knowledge of specific design and specification features with regards to road and sewer agreements and maximising value to the Company
- Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction/Engineering subject with relevant experience
- CSCS card or equivalent
- Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards
- Strong communication, listening and presentation skills with the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
