A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support delivery of a major high street regeneration scheme in Eastbourne. This is a long-term freelance opportunity for a proactive and technically strong individual who thrives in a site-based environment and is confident managing packages from inception through to completion.

The role will involve taking ownership of key elements of the works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery in line with programme and commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors and direct workforce on site
  • Supporting the Agent / Project Manager with programme delivery and reporting
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Reviewing and implementing RAMS and ensuring compliance on site
  • Monitoring progress against programme and driving productivity
  • Liaising with stakeholders including local authorities, utilities, and the public
  • Managing quality assurance processes and documentation
  • Assisting with cost control, variations, and record keeping
  • Producing short-term programmes and lookahead plans
Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Sub Agent on highways, public realm, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS (Black or Gold card preferred)
  • First Aid at Work
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts in a live public environment
