A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support delivery of a major high street regeneration scheme in Eastbourne. This is a long-term freelance opportunity for a proactive and technically strong individual who thrives in a site-based environment and is confident managing packages from inception through to completion.
The role will involve taking ownership of key elements of the works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery in line with programme and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and coordinating subcontractors and direct workforce on site
- Supporting the Agent / Project Manager with programme delivery and reporting
- Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Reviewing and implementing RAMS and ensuring compliance on site
- Monitoring progress against programme and driving productivity
- Liaising with stakeholders including local authorities, utilities, and the public
- Managing quality assurance processes and documentation
- Assisting with cost control, variations, and record keeping
- Producing short-term programmes and lookahead plans
- Proven experience working as a Sub Agent on highways, public realm, or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- SMSTS
- CSCS (Black or Gold card preferred)
- First Aid at Work
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts in a live public environment
- £375 per day (LTD or CIS)
- Long-term freelance engagement
- 5 days per week on site
