My client is a Leading UK Housebuilder with a reputation for building quality homes nationwide. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for an experienced driven Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands based Commercial Team to support a variety of residential developments. Reporting to the Commercial manager, you'll be instrumental in managing costs and securing the financial success of projects.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
- Preparing and managing detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for residential projects
- Conducting regular valuations and cost reporting to track financial progress
- Managing procurement processes and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to control costs
- Ensuring compliance with contractual and company policies, and maintaining accurate cost reporting and documentation
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction or equivalent and a valid CSCS card
- Must have residential/housebuilder experience with a solid understanding of market conditions and rates
- Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of budget management
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Good IT skills and proficient with COINs and other relevant software
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to reconcile any potential cost disputes
- Able to work independently and part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
