My client is a Leading UK Housebuilder with a reputation for building quality homes nationwide. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for an experienced driven Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands based Commercial Team to support a variety of residential developments. Reporting to the Commercial manager, you'll be instrumental in managing costs and securing the financial success of projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:

  • Preparing and managing detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for residential projects
  • Conducting regular valuations and cost reporting to track financial progress
  • Managing procurement processes and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to control costs
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and company policies, and maintaining accurate cost reporting and documentation

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

  • HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction or equivalent and a valid CSCS card
  • Must have residential/housebuilder experience with a solid understanding of market conditions and rates
  • Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of budget management
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Good IT skills and proficient with COINs and other relevant software
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to reconcile any potential cost disputes
  • Able to work independently and part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
