Fawkes & Reece are working exclusively with a highly regarded subcontractor specialising in drylining and facades, on their search for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established business delivering major packages on landmark schemes across London. With a full order book and a strong reputation for developing talent, the company offers genuine progression and hands-on training from a highly experienced commercial team.
Role Overview:
As an AQS, you’ll be reporting directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting the commercial delivery of façade and drylining packages on large-scale London-based projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Supporting the preparation of monthly CVRs and financial reports
- Helping manage subcontractor payments, variations, and change control
- Liaising with site and project teams to ensure commercial efficiency
- Maintaining accurate records and contract documentation
Requirements:
- 1–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within facades, drylining, or interiors
- Familiarity with JCT contracts and commercial reporting
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Construction-related degree or working towards qualification
Base: You’ll be site based in and around London projects, with regular travel to the Kent-based office. This is an ideal role for an Assistant QS looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive, fast-paced, and respected subcontractor.
