About this Role:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Contracts Manager to work with this busy regional main contractor based on the Hampshire South Coast.
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for multiple projects in the region from the preconstruction phase onwards, throughout construction on site, and to the end of the defects period.
Reporting to the Area Building Manager, you will be responsible for input to tenders and second stage preconstruction in terms of methodology, construction and logistics programming, engagement with the supply chain, and preparation for commencement on site.
You will oversee 2-3 live projects through your project site teams, ensuring company standards of safety, organisation, and quality are achieved, providing support and guidance, and maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships.
You will address and close out outstanding defects on projects while building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
This is a roving multiple site role requiring you to be based between the office and various projects, predominantly in the Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire areas, but occasionally further for key clients.
About the Company:
The role is to work with the busy Hampshire office covering the southern operation of the business. The client is a regional main contractor with a strong pipeline of work in the Dorset/Hampshire/Wiltshire areas. The value of their projects varies but is typically between £10m – £30m, with the scope of works including defence buildings, car showrooms, industrial and manufacturing buildings, and education.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, and communication skills. Previous experience of managing multiple buildings in one or more of these sectors would be advantageous.
Ideally, you will come from a construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail at every stage of construction and high-quality finishes. You will possess strong planning and problem-solving abilities, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
This role would suit a Contracts Manager or ambitious Senior Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in the role and a proven track record of running large or ideally multiple teams.
High standards, attention to detail, and the drive to deliver on spec, budget, and programme will be very well rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits, and promotional and development prospects.
This is a permanent salaried position.
