Warrington Based Northwest & West Yorkshire region. Senior commercial position at a Tier one multi-discipline construction contractor operating Nationwide. Looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor for the Northwest & West Yorkshire region of works.
About the role of Regional Managing Quantity Surveyor:
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor for the North region, you will manage a range of projects across several key construction sectors:
- Public realm
- Industrial
- Leisure
- Healthcare
- Residential (Apartments & High rise)
- Student accommodation
- Education
- Commercial
- Retail
You will be commercially managing almost £300 million worth of projects in the North alone for this £1.6 billion turnover contractor. Additionally, another c. £60 million worth of projects in the immediate pipeline for the North.
Responsibilities for Regional Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Cost Management: Oversee and control the cost aspects of each project within the region, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Procurement Management: Lead the process for materials, subcontractors, and services.
- Contract Administration: Provide advice on contract terms, resolve disputes, and manage changes to the scope of work. Ensure contracts are executed efficiently and in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance and support on project-specific tasks and career development.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure that expectations are met and issues are addressed promptly.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly related to cost, time, and quality. Provide solutions to minimise financial risks and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Project Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly cost reports, valuations, and final accounts. Present financial data to senior management and clients as required.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to the water industry, ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental management.
- Project Delivery: Assist in the overall project delivery process, contributing to successful project outcomes and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements for Regional Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Previous experience in a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor position.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites regional.
- Prior experience in Build & General construction sector (preferably- Highrise, Commercial, Public Realm).
- Professional qualifications and accreditations preferable.
What we offer for Regional Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Salary - £80,000 - £90,000 p/a.
- Car allowance equivalent to £7500 or a Company Vehicle.
