About the role Fawkes & Reece London is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Bid Manager to enhance our team in the Berkshire/M4 regional office. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse range of framework bids and competitive tenders, overseeing projects from the initial inquiry stage all the way to financial closure. You will work closely with the Preconstruction Manager and liaise with various teams, including commercial, design, and planning, to ensure that our bids are not only competitive but also reflective of our commitment to quality and excellence.

What you’ll do
- Lead the entire bid process, starting from the first client interaction to the successful financial closure of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights for creating thorough and competitive bid submissions.
- Develop bid strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives while addressing client needs effectively.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with client requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities that can enhance our bidding success.
- Manage timelines and deadlines throughout the bidding process to ensure timely submissions.
- Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders to discuss bid progress and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a database of past bids and lessons learned to refine future bidding strategies.
- Monitor and analyze competitor bids to stay ahead in the market and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members involved in the bidding process.
- Ensure that all bid documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.
- Participate in post-bid reviews to evaluate the success of bids and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in bid management, specifically within the construction or contracting sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing and winning bids and tenders, showcasing a strong portfolio of achievements.
- In-depth knowledge of the preconstruction process, including financial closure protocols.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
