We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join our Swindon office. You will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of service to our customers, the daily running of the site and ensuring a safe environment for all who work on or visit the site. This contractor specialises in newbuild and refurbishment schemes between £5m - £30m in a mix of sectors such as education, healthcare, MOD, blue light, commercial and industrial.
You'll be responsible for:
- Examining all construction information for accuracy, completeness and discrepancies, liaising with consultants and sub-contractors to ensure a satisfactory information flow in line with company information release schedule and technical queries.
- Understanding the contract programme, updating and tracking progress on a weekly basis using ASTA.
- Producing short term programmes related to the main construction programme.
- Managing materials procurement in line with project construction programme procurement schedule.
- Managing and co-ordinating sub-contractors' attendance on site and ensuring work is carried out in a timely manner.
- Implementing and maintaining the quality test and inspection plans.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with Company procedures, project specifications, drawings and current regulations and standards and any non-conformances are dealt with promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring prospective sub-contractors are fully aware of quality standards and arranging pre-start meetings with sub-contractors and foreman prior to works commencing.
- Managing 4P's in accordance with project requirements.
- Completing site diary daily.
- Ensuring prospective sub-contractors are fully aware of safety and environmental standards.
- Obtaining and commenting on sub-contractors method statements, providing guidance where necessary to ensure safe working practices are implemented using RAMS appraisal sheet.
- Producing risk and COSHH assessments and method statements seeking outside guidance as required.
Qualifications:
- ONC / HNC equivalent or trade background with a recognised progression through site management.
- Degree or MCIOB membership desired but not essential.
Experience:
- 3 years' experience as a site manager with a similar sized organisation or 5 years as an assistant site manager with leading construction company.
- Broad understanding of traditional construction.
- Detailed knowledge of either site engineering or building finishes.
