Fawkes and Reece have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fit Out Manager to join a well-established main contractor based in Swansea, delivering high-quality construction and refurbishment projects across South Wales. Our client has an excellent reputation for delivering projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, leisure and public sectors, working with a number of Tier 1 clients and prestigious end users. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Fit Out Manager to oversee multiple internal fit out packages from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As Fit Out Manager, you will be responsible for managing the internal fit out and finishing phases of a range of construction projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors to successfully deliver both new build and regeneration/refurbishment schemes across South Wales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all internal fit out and finishing works.
  • Oversee subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely and to programme.
  • Ensure quality standards are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Carry out quality inspections and snagging.
  • Manage project handovers and final completion.
  • Produce progress reports and attend client/site meetings.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Fit Out Manager, Senior Site Manager or Finishing Manager within the construction industry.
  • Experience delivering large-scale commercial fit out projects valued up to £10m+.
  • Previous experience working with Tier 1 contractors or Tier 1 clients.
  • Demonstrable experience on both new build and regeneration/refurbishment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of internal finishing trades and construction sequencing.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex programmes.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
  • A stable employment history with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.

  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
