Responsibilities:

  • Fibre Termination & Splicing: Prepare, strip, clean, and cleave fibres; perform fusion or mechanical termination into patch panels, splice trays, and wall outlets (FTTP/FTTH).
  • Testing & Inspection: Conduct OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer), ILM, and Optical Power Meter (OPM) testing; perform end-face microscopy inspections to verify signal integrity.
  • Network Maintenance: Diagnose and repair fibre link faults, high-loss events, and damaged connectors.
  • Documentation: Record test results, update asset management and job tracking systems, and create accurate splice diagrams and test reports.
