We're looking for an ambitious Site Manager required to join a £15m new-build education project in Southampton, which is starting on site later this year. This is one of several schemes for the same local authority client secured on a regional framework agreement.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site-based construction activities, including:
- Short-term programming
- Health and safety
- Reviewing method statements and risk assessments
- Calling off materials
- Logistics
- Quality control
- Client liaison
- Coordination meetings
- Progress reporting
- Snagging and handover
About the Contractor: This opportunity is with the busy Southampton regional office of a leading Tier 1 national main contractor, which has an annual regional turnover of circa £100m and a proven track record of delivering new-build and refurbishment schemes across various sectors.
Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- At least five years' experience as a Site Manager
- Strong technical, organisational, people-management and communication skills
- A proactive, highly motivated approach
- A background in trades, construction management or engineering, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong planning and problem-solving abilities, with a positive, 'right first time' approach
- A proven track record of successfully delivering projects, with safety, quality, client relationships and supply chain relationships treated as priorities
- A background working for a top 20 main contractor would be advantageous
Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
