Experienced Site Manager required to join this established regional contractor on a £15m new build extra-care residential scheme in Portchester, with availability to start in the near term preferred.
The development provides accommodation for over-60s across two blocks. The West Block is approaching the finishing stages, while the main focus of the role will be the East Block, which is virtually watertight and about to move into the internal fit-out phase.
Reporting to the Project Manager and working alongside an existing Assistant Site Manager, you will operate as the No.2 on the project, taking full responsibility for managing the East Block through fit-out to completion, while maintaining an overview of progress across the West Block. A key part of the role will be driving the East Block forward and helping recover programme, with the overall scheme currently targeting completion in February. A further £15m care-home project in Bordon has recently been secured, providing relevant follow-on workload beyond Portchester.
The opportunity is with a long-established regional contractor, with turnover in the region of £80m and a strong track record across the South of England. The business delivers projects across residential, care, healthcare, education, commercial, leisure and social housing sectors, working with local authorities, housing associations and private clients. More than 70% of its workload comes from repeat business, showing a strong focus on long-term client relationships, quality and reliable project delivery.
You will be an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a strong construction background and the ability to take ownership of a substantial section of a project. Previous experience managing internal fit-out through finishing, snagging and completion will be particularly relevant, alongside strong subcontractor management, organisational and programming ability. You will be proactive and delivery-focused, with the ability to identify issues early, maintain quality standards and drive works forward where programme recovery is required. A sharp eye for detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the Project Manager, Assistant Site Manager and wider project team will be important for the role.
