We're working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor to recruit an Assistant Site Manager for a substantial multi-phased industrial development currently underway in Kent. The scheme is a large-scale steel frame warehouse development that will become a key logistics and distribution hub once complete. With multiple phases planned and significant investment behind the project, this is the type of development that will stand out on any CV and provide excellent exposure to large-scale construction.
The successful candidate will take ownership of Phase 2 of the development, working closely with an experienced Senior Site Manager and Senior Project Manager who will provide support, guidance, and the opportunity to continue developing your career within a Tier 1 environment. This role would suit someone who enjoys being on site, likes seeing progress happen at pace, and wants to be part of a project where there is always something happening.
The Role
- You'll be heavily involved in the day-to-day delivery of Phase 2, helping ensure the project continues to move forward safely, efficiently, and to the high standards expected by both the contractor and client.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management and delivery of Phase 2 of a major steel frame warehouse development
- Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring progress across your designated work areas
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety and site presentation
- Working closely with the Senior Site Manager to ensure programme milestones are achieved
- Monitoring quality throughout the construction process and ensuring works are completed to specification
- Assisting with logistics planning and site coordination across a busy live project
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors and the wider project team
- Identifying and resolving issues before they impact programme or productivity
- Contributing to a positive, professional, and well-organised site environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience working as an Assistant Site Manager within construction
- Previous experience on industrial, commercial, logistics, warehouse, or large-scale construction projects would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Someone who is eager to learn, take responsibility, and continue progressing their career
- A proactive approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of site delivery
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
