Fawkes & Reece South are working with a main contractor who are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in one of their commercial teams. The team are working on a major infrastructure framework worth well over £150m for the next 10 years on behalf of a private client. Individual projects on this framework will be worth up to £5m and will be based on bespoke contracts derived from NEC contracts. Their projects are in Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Wales and Berkshire. Scope of works on these projects includes associated infrastructure works, ducting, drainage, roads etc.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting to a Commercial Manager and your role will be to perform your commercial duties in line with the companies policies collaboratively with the client. You will be involved in (but not limited to):
- Preparing the basis of the project procurement schedule and ensures the team contribute and complete their relevant sections
- Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submissions of invoice and receipt of payment
- Develop a strategy for concluding client negotiations
- Monitor resources and costs to ensure that projects meet and or exceed targets
- Produce accurate and timely CVR reports, forecasts and contributes toward the setting of financial targets
- Carry out early value engineering activities ensuring all associated costs of change are included within the evaluation
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
- Quantity Surveying Degree-qualified or equivalent
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure projects. Experience on highways, water or rail frameworks or projects will be advantageous.
- Ideally a member of RICS
- Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
