Assistant Site Manager - 90-Unit Traditional Build Development We're working with one of the UK's established PLC housebuilders on a busy residential development in a village setting within the West Sussex countryside. The development consists of 90 new homes, predominantly detached 3, 4 and 5-bedroom houses alongside a block of apartments. With 62 units currently in build, this is a fast-paced site with plenty happening across different stages of construction. The team is also working towards achieving NHBC Pride in the Job recognition, so build quality, attention to detail and maintaining consistently high standards are a real focus. They're looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager who knows their way around a busy residential development, understands the pace of volume housebuilding and can take responsibility for their own areas of the build while supporting the wider site team. The Role Support the Site Manager with the daily running of the development, keeping trades organised and plots progressing. Manage subcontractors across different build stages, ensuring work is completed to programme. Maintain strong build quality and work towards NHBC standards, with Pride in the Job a key focus for the team. Carry out regular plot inspections, identify issues early and ensure they are followed through. Help coordinate materials, labour and upcoming works to avoid unnecessary delays. Maintain health & safety standards and support the site team through to plot completion and handover. What We're Looking For An experienced Assistant Site Manager with several years of proven experience working directly for a residential housebuilder. This isn't an entry-level ASM position; we're looking for someone who has already spent a good few years on site and understands what is expected of them. A background working for a PLC or established volume housebuilder, with experience managing plots on busy residential developments. Strong knowledge of traditional build construction, NHBC requirements and the quality standards expected throughout the build. Someone comfortable managing subcontractors independently, coordinating trades and keeping multiple plots progressing at different stages. A good eye for detail, particularly around build quality, inspections and identifying issues before they become bigger problems. Someone who can hit the ground running, use their initiative and support the Site Manager without needing constant direction. SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid. What's On Offer £58,000 + package. The opportunity to work alongside a site team pushing for NHBC Pride in the Job recognition. A well-established housebuilder with a strong pipeline of residential developments. The chance to develop your experience on a fast-moving site where quality and programme are equally important. If you're an Assistant Site Manager who takes pride in the quality of your work and enjoys being part of a site team with something to aim for, this is a good opportunity to make your mark.
