A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Director to join the senior leadership team on one of the UK's most significant healthcare developments. This is a flagship £1bn+ programme in Norfolk, offering over 10 years of secured work and the opportunity to play a pivotal role from pre-construction through to full project delivery.
Reporting directly into the Project Director, you will operate as the number two on the scheme, taking ownership of construction strategy, operational delivery, stakeholder management, programme performance, and team leadership across multiple phases of the development lifecycle. The project itself is a highly complex, large-scale healthcare scheme incorporating cutting-edge clinical facilities, extensive infrastructure, and technically challenging construction packages.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading construction delivery from early-stage planning through to completion
- Supporting pre-construction strategy, logistics, sequencing, and buildability
- Managing large multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners
- Driving programme, safety, quality, and operational performance
- Working closely with client stakeholders, consultants, and internal leadership teams
- Acting as a key leadership figure across the wider project organisation
Previous healthcare experience would be advantageous given the nature and complexity of the scheme, however candidates from other major project backgrounds will also be considered. Experience delivering large-scale, technically complex projects within sectors such as infrastructure, defence, commercial, data centres, or major public sector developments would be highly relevant.
This is a rare opportunity to join a landmark project with genuine long-term stability, exceptional career prospects, and the chance to help deliver a nationally significant development. For a confidential discussion, please get in touch.
