An excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor on a major project in Newmarket. This Site Manager role offers long-term freelance work through to March 2027, overseeing a significant groundworks package and working as part of a high-performing project team on a flagship development. About the Role of Site Manager As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a substantial groundworks package on a large-scale construction project in Newmarket. Working alongside the Project Manager and Senior Site Team, you will coordinate subcontractors, drive programme performance, and ensure all works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager with Tier 1 or Main Contractor experience looking for long-term contract security and exposure to a major project. Responsibilities for Site Manager Managing day-to-day delivery of the groundworks package * Coordinating groundworks subcontractors and ensuring programme milestones are achieved * Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance * Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress meetings * Reviewing and implementing RAMS across all activities * Working closely with engineers, commercial teams, and project management staff * Monitoring productivity and managing site resources effectively * Producing progress reports and maintaining accurate site recordsRequirements for Site Manager Proven experience as a Site Manager on major construction projects * Previous experience working for a Tier 1 Contractor or Main Contractor is essential * Strong background managing groundworks and enabling works packages * SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid qualification required * Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills * Strong understanding of programme management and site logistics * Ability to work within a fast-paced project environmentOur client is a highly respected Tier 1 contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex projects across the UK.
