We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join our growing groundworks team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out and engineering duties across a range of residential and commercial groundwork projects, ensuring work is delivered accurately, safely, and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all setting out duties for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
- Interpret construction drawings and extract setting out information directly from CAD models and drawings.
- Use surveying equipment, including Leica TS16 total stations, to accurately set out works.
- Verify line and level throughout construction.
- Produce and maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information.
- Liaise with site management, clients, and subcontractors to ensure works are completed to specification.
- Identify and resolve engineering issues on site.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control processes.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
- Demonstrable experience using Leica TS16 Total Station.
- Ability to extract coordinates and setting out information directly from CAD drawings/models.
- Strong understanding of drainage, foundations, roads, kerbing, plot works, and external works.
- Competent in reading engineering and construction drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience with GPS/GNSS surveying equipment.
- AutoCAD knowledge.
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous).
- First Aid at Work (desirable).
