We are currently working with a Tier 1 contractor seeking experienced Design Managers to join their growing construction team delivering high-profile MOD and MOJ projects across the Northwest. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with a strong background in managing complex, high-value projects within secure and regulated environments.
The Role
- Leading and managing the full design process from pre-construction through to project completion
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and subcontractors
- Driving design strategy, programme management, and technical compliance
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout the project life cycle
- Ensuring all design meets MOD/MOJ standards, regulations, and security requirements
- Supporting operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Mentoring and supporting junior Design Managers within the business
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager position
- Background delivering MOD, MOJ, defence, custodial, healthcare, or other complex projects
- Strong technical construction knowledge and commercial awareness
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams effectively
- Relevant construction or design qualification preferred
