This Temporary Works Engineer role offers a long-term contract on a flagship scheme, providing the opportunity to work on one of the UK's fastest-growing construction sectors with a strong pipeline of future projects. About the Role of Temporary Works Engineer As Temporary Works Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating temporary works across a major data centre development. Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Manager, Structural Engineer, and specialist subcontractors, you will ensure all temporary works are designed, reviewed, approved, installed, inspected, and removed safely and in accordance with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have previous Data Centre experience. However, candidates with experience on major projects valued at £90m+ will also be considered, particularly those who have worked within a Tier 1 main contractor environment. Responsibilities for Temporary Works Engineer Managing the temporary works process across multiple areas of the project * Coordinating temporary works designs, checks, approvals, and implementation * Maintaining the Temporary Works Register and associated documentation * Working closely with structural engineers and design teams to review temporary works solutions * Carrying out inspections to ensure temporary works are installed in accordance with approved designs * Identifying and mitigating temporary works risks throughout construction * Supporting site teams with technical advice and temporary works requirements * Liaising with subcontractors to ensure all temporary works are correctly managed and maintainedRequirements for Temporary Works Engineer Previous experience working as a Temporary Works Engineer on major construction projects * Data Centre experience is highly desirable * Alternatively, experience on projects valued at £90m+ is essential * Experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor or major principal contractor * Strong understanding of temporary works procedures. * Excellent communication and coordination skills * Ability to work closely with construction, engineering, and design teams * Temporary Works training or relevant engineering qualifications preferredOur client is a market-leading Tier 1 contractor with a growing portfolio of complex Data Centre projects across the UK.
